Trip to Kaiwara

On 25th Dec2009, we planned to go on a day-trip. We went through google hundred times to find out right place to go. Finally we decided on Kaiwara, a small temple town near Chintamani around 50Kms from our house. Now place is decided, but we have another problem -Transportation? We are 8 and car can take 5+1 (it’s me). So, Daddy, Mummy, Thatha, Nanamma, Atha and me travelled by car and told Ba Babai (Bhargav Babai) and Shu babai (Sivudu Babai) to come by bus. We started at 10AM. When we reached Hoskote, babai called us and told that all the buses are heavily crowded and they are still to get in to a bus. Kaiwara is on Hoskote- Chinatamani road. We reached Kaiwara at 11:15AM. Babai called us again and said they didn’t get a bus and are going back home :-(.
The first temple we visited was Yogi Narayana Swamy Ashram. He is also known as Kaiwara Thathayya. He is said to have written some poems about kalagnana (like Nostradamus and Veerabrahmendra!!!). The temple is new and is big.

From there we went to Amara Narayana Swamy temple. This temple is old Venkateswara temple and is very good. Then we visited Bheema Lingeswara temple. this temple is said to be the one contructed when pandavas were doiing vanavasa. It has five temples inside one compound, the major being Bheema Lingeswara. Around this there are Dharma, Arjuna, Nakula and Shadeva Lingeswara temples. This temple is protected by Archeology department.

Then we went to "Vaikuntham". There were lots of monkeys and I was amused to see all those. Mummy found that its ideal time to give me some food showing me all the monkeys around. After my lunch, we went to visit the temple. This is a very huge Narasimhaswamy temple, still in contruction. There is onr concrete slide and I enjoyed sliding through it.

Now we started to Kailashgiri, a man made cave temple on a hill. It was 2PM when we reached there. We had lunch brought from home on the hill. We were forced to have lunch inside car as there were monkeys around. After lunch we went to temple. Its a Shiva temple (Chaturmukha Siva) inside a cave. this is man made cave. The drilling of caves is still going on around the temple. Around the hill, there are few "Danger" sign boards written in Kannada. These boards warn devotees not to go beyond some points as they are dangerous and there can be some dacoits around.

We started back from here. All of us were tired and preferred to skip visiting "Tapovan" near Vaikuntham. Its a zoo-park. I too was sleepy and didnt want to get disturbed. We reached home at 5:30PM.

The next two days we visited local temples Tirumalgiri Venkateswara in JP nagar and Ragigudda temple in BTM.

See you later with another update.....
